Nicolae Timofti requests EU to sign Association Agreement in May

President Nicolae Timofti on April 17 sent a letter to the Council of the European Union, saying that Moldova’s intense wish is to sign the Association Agreement with the EU, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, by the end of May, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the presidential press service.

The head of state sent similar letters to the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton.

President Nicolae Timofti proposed signing the Association Agreement at the meeting of the EU heads of state and government of May 27. click
